We know you’re busy and our job is to help you make good decisions about your car. And that's one less thing you need to worry about. We are sensitive to the cost and inconvenience associated with auto repair, and we help make this process as pleasant as possible. We don't use tech-talk, and we'll discuss all your repair options until you're comfortable with your choices.
Do you have a shuttle service?
Yes, we have a shuttle service and will gladly take you home or to work. We also have a small fleet of
loaner cars that are available to our customers for free.
How do your prices compare?
Our customers are generally pleasantly surprised with our prices! There may be shops out there whose prices are lower, and there certainly are many whose prices are higher. When you look at the total package, our free loaner cars, our great people, our accurate estimates and repair options, The Motor Works offers an unbeatable value!
What kind of quality can I expect?
You expect and deserve the highest quality repairs, and we are determined to provide them. You want the right repairs done right the first time, and so do we. Our technicians are ASE-certified and we were the first AAA-approved shop in Winston-Salem.
Will you give me repair options?
Absolutely! We always prioritize the repairs we recommend. Your safety and your car's reliability are primary concerns. There are urgent repairs and those that can be delayed. We know you have a budget, and we can help you make informed decisions without the sales pressure you may have experienced elsewhere.
What does your shop look like?
We have a neat, clean shop where you will feel comfortable. We regularly get compliments about the cleanliness of our waiting area and the bathrooms.

What services do you offer?
The Motor Works is a full service repair shop. That means that we do it all, and since it's done in-house, we have quality control over all aspects of your vehicle’s care. We do all kinds of major and minor repair including all factory scheduled maintenance. We have the same vehicle-specific scan tools that the dealership uses. We also are a NC Inspection Station. We have the very latest tire and alignment technology and can handle wheels up to 20” with our no-scratch equipment.
What parts do you use?
A quality repair depends on quality parts. We use the same quality parts your car was originally built with! Quality parts work right, fit right, and last, ensuring a quality repair and a satisfied customer.
How long have you been in business?
The Motor Works has been in business since 1974. We are the oldest independent European car repair facility in Winston-Salem. Some of our customers have been doing business with us since we first opened. And now we're servicing their kids' cars.

Do you honor Extended Warranties?
Yes we do. Please bring your contract with you and we will make all the necessary contacts with your warranty company.
Do you have a customer referral program?
I need to be towed to the shop. Can you recommend a towing company?
If you need a tow we highly recommend Bob Thomas at B&L Towing. Phone: 336-813-3636. All vehicles are towed the safest way, on a flat bed hauler. Bob has a key to our locked yard and can deliver your car to The Motor Works for secure after-hours storage.
